Strap on a paragliding-style harness, click into your custom built cable trolley, and then fly! The 3-hour (approximately) zip line tour will thrill riders of all ages. Six separate spans with side-by-side zipping action will carry you more than 300 feet off the ground at speeds possibly topping 50 mph.

Groups of up to 12 can zip together, and will be accompanied by a guide. Open to riders of all ages between 60 - 230 pounds and at least 54"" tall.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required - comfortable walking shoes recommended
  • Leash recommended for sunglasses, hats, cameras and other personal items
  • Parties should check in no later than 20 minutes prior to their tour start time
  • Tours go out rain or shine (except due to lightning), so dress appropriately to be outside for 3 hours in that day's weather

Experience fun, learning and adventure in Walk In The Treetops. This 2 1/2-hour nature walk & scenic activity offers a unique view of the forest from an elevated boardwalk through the treetop canopy. This includes a shuttle ride out to the trail-head from the Base Lodge area, a safety presentation, hiking out and back on an uneven 1/2 mile trail and a walk on an elevated 700' boardwalk at heights up to 70'. Guides give ecosystem talks relative to our forests and point out the local flora and fauna. It's the only walk of it's kind in the United States!

The adventure includes:
  • A half mile hike through beautiful sub-alpine forest led by expert forest interpreters.
  • A journey on a canopy boardwalk suspended up to 70 feet above the forest floor with spectacular views.
  • A safety harness and ropes are used to keep you safe.
  • A snack and water are provided.
  • Closed toed shoes required and tour goes rain or shine, dress appropriately for the weather
  • There is no age limit, but due to the height of overhead safety equipment, you must be at least 48" tall. Due to the size of harnesses, you must have a waist of 42" or smaller.

One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Montana's natural setting is cruising along some of the 20+ miles of lift-accessed biking trails at Whitefish Mountain Resort. We have some of the best and most plentiful trails in the state. From the summit, choose to highlight scenic vistas, technical singletrack or cruise cross country trails centered around our Base Lodge. Tune into the Trail Report for updated Mountain Biking information and conditions.

Mountain Bike rentals are available at Snow Ghost Outfitters located in the Morning Eagle building on the village boardwalk. Call 406-862-1996 for more information. Snow Ghost is open daily from 9am to 5pm during the Summer Season. Pick up a trail map at Snow Ghost, the Ticket Plaza or Info Center.
  • Lift Tickets are required for the lift accessed trails
  • Helmets required on all trails
  • Guided Tours available on request

Leaving directly from Whitefish Mountain Resort Village is the popular hiking experience of the Danny On Trail, which meanders up the slopes of Big Mountain through blooming wildflowers to the 6,817ft summit.

Leaving directly from Whitefish Mountain Resort Village is the popular hiking experience of the Danny On Trail, which meanders up the slopes of Big Mountain through blooming wildflowers to the 6,817ft summit, passing through forests and fields. Epic vistas look out over the valley and the mountains from various points along the trail.

There are four different loops and routes on the trail with the longest route being 5.6 miles from base to summit. The most direct route is 3.8 miles. Please remember to pack extra clothing, food, and water and travel with hiking partners.

When the huckleberries are ripe be prepared to eat some delicious berries too!

*Please note that you need to have either an '09/'10 winter pass, a 2010 summer pass, or a $5 one way lift ticket to ride the lift down from the summit. Tickets available at the summit house, or any ticket outlet.

Thursday Night Race League

TNRL is a series of seven Cross Country mountain bike races held on Thursday evenings. The course is on a variety of trails above village area and in our cross country trail network below the Baselodge. We hope to provide additional trails this summer to augment our race loops.

This race series will be on one of three courses throughout the season to highlight different trails, & different strengths of riders while focusing on cross country style trials. All abilities and ages are welcome and encouraged to participate. Each race loop will be approximately 3-4.5 miles. There is a party with awards and drawings after each race starting at about 8pm.

Registration and awards / after party will be at the 'Stube. Start, Finish will be in the Upper Village, just follow the music. Stay tuned for the summer 2010 schedule.
